Christie, a seasoned financial expert, brings a wealth of experience to the table. With years spent as Chief Financial Officer for a General Contracting firm in the Pacific Northwest, Christie helped steer the company through remarkable growth. Her strategic prowess extended to collaborating directly with financial institutions and bonding brokers, successfully elevating the company’s ceilings to facilitate expansion and the acquisition of another contracting firm. Her involvement was instrumental in shaping accurate bids during the estimation process, and she maintained a watchful eye on contracts and subcontractors once projects were secured.
Throughout her illustrious career, Christie has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting over 60 diverse nonprofit organizations. Her collaboration with their respective boards of directors involved meticulously preparing annual budgets, devising financial reports, and charting out accounting strategies that align costs seamlessly with future financial plans. Notably, among these organizations were private utility companies, responsible for providing essential services such as sewage, potable water, and irrigation to numerous residents as well as exclusive golf courses.
Christie played a pivotal role in designing usage fees, overseeing service availability for crucial systems like fire prevention and wastewater reclamation, and expertly managing complex fixed asset schedules and replacement timelines.
Her contributions have extended beyond corporate realms. Christie’s involvement with the Washington State Safety Committee in the capacity of an Excavator seat on the board further attests to her dedication. She spearheaded hearings, rendering decisions on matters related to the Dig Safe laws of Washington State, while collaborating with fellow committee members to advocate for necessary legislative amendments.
Christie’s influence also resonates within industry associations. As a Founding Member of the local chapter of the National Underground Contractors Association (NUCA), she served as Secretary/Treasurer, orchestrating impactful initiatives. Her commitment to fostering safety awareness within the underground contracting network and inspiring construction interest among youth through local apprenticeship providers showcased her vision for an industry that thrives on excellence and inclusivity.
